Buddhist Meditation: Heightened Awareness

Beyond “Zoning Out”

Meditation at the Slane Temple is not merely about relaxation. It is a dedicated practice of becoming fully aware of yourself and everything around you. True calm and strength only arrive when you achieve full understanding through awareness.

We use our five senses—hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell—one by one to learn about ourselves and others. This practice empowers you to perceive and act through the heart rather than the ego. Our sessions include contemplative meditation, breathing techniques, and the recitation of traditional mantras to boost internal vibration.
